Outreach - Allan Wilson Centre Lecture Series:Every two years the AWC hosts a series of three lectures focusing on a theme of interest. In recogntion of the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of his publication "On the Origin of Species" the theme for the 2009 series is "Human Evolution". The three lectures for 2009 were given around
the country during February, March and April 2009. Mike Morwood presented a lecture titled "Hobbits in context: the life, times and death of Homo floresiensis". For more information, click here. The second lecture by Lisa Matisoo-Smith was titled "Great Moments in Human History – the Settlement of the Pacific". For more information, click here. The third lecture was titled "In Darwin’s Footsteps: Bipedalism, Tools and Foraging in the Early Stages of Human Evolution" given by Jack Harris. For more information, click here.
